At the crossroads of play, trash, and dreaming, Wayfinding the Before and the Hereafter is an exercise in storytelling and collaborative map-making. Inspired by the works of adrienne maree brown, Octavia Butler, Grace Lee Boggs, and countless generations of activists and radical speculators, The W.O.W. Project invites participants to experiment with different mediums and co-investigate erased histories and uncertain futures, creating a constellation of tales from the past, present, and what lies ahead.
Included in this activity is confetti collected from the streets of Chinatown during this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations, and will be transformed into handmade paper by The W.O.W. Project’s youth fellowship throughout the year (Resist, Recycle, Regenerate).
Presented as a part of Re–Fest, CultureHub’s annual festival. Join us before or after the workshop to experience artworks, performances, conversations, and workshops throughout La MaMa's 74a E 4th Street building. Re–Fest is free and open to all.
